NEW YORK: Barely two years after her promotion from cmo at General Electric to president-digital media and market development at NBC Universal, Beth Comstock (pictured) has retraced her steps to GE's corporate headquarters at Fairfield, Connecticut.
She takes up the reins again as the electrical and defense titan's senior vp/cmo, although there appears to be some uncertainty as to whether the move is a promotion.
At NBC, Comstock was a key figure in the in the firm's $600 million (€394.9m; £302.27m) decision to purchase women's-interest website iVillage – an expensive move whose success has been questioned in some quarters.
Meantime, it seems that Comstock will not be replaced at NBC and her former duties are to be shared among other executives.
