PARIS: French advertising and marketing conglomerate Publicis Groupe is poised to make acquisitions, says chairman Maurice Lévy.
Speaking at the company's annual meeting, Lévy revealed: "We are targeting acquisitions, notably in health, technology and interactive advertising. We will also look for acquisitions to complement our offerings in some markets."
Publicis inked a $1.3 billion (€986.1m; £661.6m) merger at the end of last year with leading US new media and direct marketing agency Digitas [WARC News: 21-Dec-06].
Lévy added: "The integration of Digitas is unfolding very smoothly, as its 16.8% revenue growth on a standalone basis in the first quarter of this year demonstrates.
"I am therefore confident for 2007, and I confirm our objectives of organic growth on the order of 5% over the whole year, with progressive acceleration as the year unfolds."
