LONDON: Online data provider comScore Networks says Google web properties were the most visited in the UK during October, the first time the search giant has come out on top in Britain.

Microsoft's MSN took second spot, while eBay, Yahoo and BBC sites completed the top five.

Google also consolidated its position in the US last month ahead of Yahoo and Microsoft, having captured 45.4% of the search market during the same period - up 0.3% from September and up 6.4% compared with October 2005.
