LONDON: Media group Emap is carrying out a strategic review of its publishing portfolio as ceo Tom Moloney comes under pressure to boost shareholder value.
The UK headquartered business, which includes consumer magazines in the UK and overseas, B2B events, magazines and conferences and a number of radio and TV stations, has engaged Boston Consulting Group to look at the group's future direction.
Analysts are doubtful that Emap would sell whole divisions, but could be looking at disposing of individual media brands or international editions.
The company's consumer media division says it is "currently undertaking an initiative across its UK magazine businesses called Magazines 2010. The objective is to ensure that we improve operational efficiencies across our UK businesses."
Emap's first-half financial results are due next week. The company has said it expects revenues to be down 2% on last year.
