NEW YORK: US internet giant AOL is to offer movies and TV shows via its video portal, following tie-ups with Hollywood's major studios.
Users will be able to download features from 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures and Warner Brothers at between $9.99 (€7.82; £5.28) and $19.99 a movie.
The service also allows users to buy or watch for free thousands of TV programs from any of 45 VOD channels.
AOL, owned by Time Warner, is moving away from subscription revenues towards income generated through online ads and content sales.
