FRENCH NATIONAL carrier Air France has opted for Wembley as the site for its pan-European call centre. The decision will create 240 jobs, processing calls from eight countries, including those related to the Frequence Plus frequent flyer scheme. By September the new centre, with Frederic Verdier at the joystick, will have expanded to handle telesales calls in six languages from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.

Verdier regards London as the ideal location for the recruitment of multilingual staff. There will be no com-pulsory redundancies and existing telesales staff in France will be redeployed or given the option to move to London.
