US food manufacturing giant Kraft is saying goodbye to its global marketing chief, Betsy Holden.
Holden (49) was demoted from the post of co-ceo of the company 18 months ago, and confounded many expectations by remaining with the Illinois-headquartered firm.
She has now quit to spend more time with her family, but plans to resume her career elsewhere next year.
Says ceo Roger Deromedi, who used to share the role with Holden: "We thank Betsy for her many contributions, including her recent leadership in establishing the global marketing and category development group within our global organization and in guiding our health and wellness initiatives."
After Holden's departure, on June 30, her responsibilities will be split between Paula Sneed, who will become evp, global marketing resources and initiatives, while John Baxter takes on the role of evp, global category development.
Kraft's main brands include Maxwell House coffee and Oreo cookies, marketed in more than 150 countries. Its US advertising agency roster includes WPP Group's JWT, and Ogilvy & Mather, as well as Interpublic Group's Foote Cone & Belding. Media is handled by Starcom MediaVest Group.
