Spain's hottest advertising shop, Sra Rushmore (Sra being the abbreviation for Senora) is about to succumb to the romantic overtures of the WPP Group.
The Madrid-headquartered, high-profile creative agency has been the object of desire both of WPP's Red Cell Network and French-owned rival Publicis Groupe.
Among Sra Rushmore's clientele are Nestlé and Coca-Cola, which is also one of the biggest accounts at New York's Berlin Cameron/Red Cell shop.
The deal has yet to be inked so Red Cell chairman/ceo Andy Berlin will say only: "Sra Rushmore is well-regarded."
The Spanish shop opened in 2000 as a breakaway from Omnicom Group's BBDO Madrid. It is named after an old woman (played by an American actress) who starred in an award-winning Pepsi-Cola campaign created while the agency's founders were still at BBDO.
