Tom Wass, British co-founder and president/international ceo of Omnicom Group's promotional marketing network TBWA\Tequila, is the latest senior agency honcho to walk the platinum plank.

Until Tuesday, Wass's London-headquartered empire extended to forty-four Tequila offices worldwide. Today he is consoling himself by counting the frequent-flier points he has amassed over the past fourteen years in the agency's service.

TBWA declined all comment, although it did not refute the ousting of Wass. As ever with harsh deeds, the words were emollient. Cooed a TBWA statement: "We wish Tom much success in his future endeavours and thank him for his contributions."

The search for a US-based successor will take place over the next few months. In the interim, TBWA's director of development Rod Wright serves as acting-chief executive.
