Britain's Royal Mail is seeking to promote its most lucrative and profitable business segment – direct mail – with DM Online, a new website that helps visitors to develop mail campaigns and source suppliers.
Once registered with the site, would-be direct mailers can browse links to third-party sites run by mail design specialists, list managers, data bureaux, mailing/production houses and fulfilment services. The site also enables visitors to build a prospective customer database from scratch.
Explains RM head of media information Andrew Kershaw: “The service is designed to be as simple as possible, allowing users to experience each step in developing a piece of DM in their own time, utilising a demo that shows the power of DM Online prior to entering the transactional aspect of the site, all whilst following best practice models.”
