Wolfgang Reitzle, a group vice president at Ford Motor Company and responsible for the automaker’s marketing worldwide, will quit the group on May 1 to take up a non-Ford role.
His departure also triggers a reshuffle at Ford's London-based Premier Automotive Group, chaired by Reitzle.
Mark Fields, currently president-ceo of Japan's Ford-controlled Mazda Motor Corporation, will take over from Reitzle as chair of PAG on July 1. He will be responsible for all the group’s European manufactured luxury brands: Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo.
And in the US management structure, Jim O’Connor has been promoted to the new post of group vice president, North American marketing, sales and service. O’Connor was previously corporate vice president and president of the Ford marque.
In a parallel move, Kathleen Ligocki moves to the new post of vice president of North American marketing. She also holds ultimate responsibility for worldwide marketing, Jan Valentic reporting to her in his extant role of vp, global marketing.
