10 rules to aid innovation
From truly collaborating and communicating with colleagues to breaking out of stifling routines, Matt Kingdon, co-founder of innovation consultancy ?What If! shares his 10 rules for successful innovation.
There's a funny thing with innovation – particularly innovation in large companies – that it invariably doesn't come through the annual planning process. Look back at most innovation success stories and you won't find that process played much of a role. Much more important is how human beings rub along, how they push each other to spend more time with customers, how they 'lean in' to each other's half-crazy ideas with a smile not a frown and how they work quickly together to 'make things real'.
Innovation needs the attitude right and behaviour right far more than long-term strategic plans.
