Mobile gaming firms accounted for a much larger proportion of exhibitors at the 2014 Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC), held in Beijing in May, compared to previous years. The sheer number of game developers vying for attention on the sidelines suggests that the market in China has become very crowded.

Among the senior figures attempting to make sense of this fast growing sector at was Isao Moriyasu, the president of DeNA, a mobile services developer and operator based in Tokyo. DeNA has gone through several incarnations before arriving at today's business...
