Three shops have made it through to the shortlist for Nasdaq’s $30 million creative and media account, leaving disconsolate incumbent, of twelve years, Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, among the five also-rans.

The survivors – New York shops J Walter Thompson and Bouchez Kent + Co, along with McKinney & Silver of Raleigh, North Carolina – were briefed yesterday on a creative assignment. They will pitch within the next two weeks with a decision due before the end of next month.

The review on behalf of the 30-year-old New York electronic stock market is being conducted under the baton of fellow Manhattan denizen, Richard Roth Associates.
