RANDBURG, South Africa: The nation's leading advertising industry bodies, the Advertising Media Forum and the Association for Communication and Advertising have pledged to "pull together for a more positive, less turbulent environment" in a trial incorporation.

The year-long pilot partnership aims to give one voice to the industry, which has seen the emergence of several representative bodies in South Africa as agencies have split into creative and media shops.

The joint effort has produced a portfolio of guidelines on the protocol of the pitching process, as well as salary surveys, contracts with staff and clients, training and development and remuneration.
