NEW YORK: WPP Group's JWT advertising agency network has hired Guy Murphy as its global planning director. Murphy, the former deputy chairman of rival shop Bartle Bogle Hegarty, will work with the agency's worldwide chief creative officer Craig Davis.

BBH, in which a minority stake is held by Publicis Groupe, is not expected to replace Murphy who comments on his move: "I intend to lead and support JWT's planners around the globe in their production of the most inspiring and contemporary briefs."
