ST. ALBANS, UK - Acquisitive Premier Foods, again seeking to extent its brands portfolio, is in talks with Campbell's Soups of the USA with a view to acquiring its British and Irish operations.
Campbell's, world number one soupmaker by sales volume, announced in March it wanted to sell its UK and Ireland businesses, calling its 28-strong brand portfolio "fragmented" and failing to generate expected growth.
Premier, which acquired the Quorn meat substitute ranger earlier this year, also markets Batchelors Cup a Soup, Super Noodles, Oxo stock cubes and Homepride sauces'
