ZURICH - Visa International has signed an eight-year global sponsorship deal with FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) to extend its sports marketing programme.
    The partnership will run from January 2007 to 2014, with Visa becoming FIFA partner in the Financial Services category - one of six sponsor slots. The deal will allow Visa broader access to, and a higher level of, association with FIFA activities than that enjoyed by previous category sponsors.
    Amid all the hype, no-one mentioned anything as vulgar as the amount of cash changing hands.
