Australia has the highest rate of melanoma in the world and the number of new cases in NSW is projected to increase. Melanoma is the most common cancer among men aged 25 to 54 and women aged 15 to 29. Across NSW in 2007 melanoma represents 10.3% of all cancers in males and 9.2% of those in females.
