Why have the authors decided to study the internet?

In the field of market research, namely Qualitative Research, we tend to explain 'the reason why things are the way they are'. And, after being a researcher for some time, we get used to it. That is why, first of all, we would like to begin by letting you know the motivations behind the present reflection on the Internet and its consumers.
