EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The UK is the largest market for champagne outside France. Pol Roger was long established here with a loyal but largely static following. Although popular with older consumers it was underexposed among affluent younger people. That situation was unlikely to change while the packaging looked old fashioned and understated the champagne's quality.
