The H.J. Heinz Company has been best known for its Heinz tomato ketchup, America's most popular condiment for more than 100 years. Less well known, perhaps, but a key source of the company's profits, has been Heinz's pet products division. In the late 1990s Heinz Pet Products was the second largest producer of pet food in the United States, offering a balanced line of products for dogs and cats.
