In 1988 Leo Burnett in Chicago launched a new campaign for Glad Bags, an account the agency serviced for First Brands from 1961, when it was still a division of Union Carbide Corp., until 1998, when First Brands was bought out by the Clorox Corp. The new campaign, however, shifted the focus from household garbage and food storage to the larger problem of environmental challenges. This environmental campaign retained the tag line "Don't get mad, get Glad," but it did not feature the spokesperson who had made this phrase a household term...
