THE PRODUCT

A 486 microprocessor is made of silicone, it can vary in size but is generally approximately 2.5 cm square and 0.5 cm deep. It is analogous to the 'brain' of the PC, as every instruction inside the PC is generated by it. The microprocessor is not a tangible object for the majority of PC users as they can't see it.
