THE MAIN PURPOSE of the Readership Research Symposium is information. The delegates attend because they want to know what has happened in other countries over the last two years which will help them with their own individual readership problems. The motivation for the speakers is slightly different. Undoubtedly there is a strong element of altruism. Many speakers want to share their experiences, and willingly disclose the results of their experiments without any hope of personal benefit....
