THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION PROPOSES HARMONISATION OF PHARMACEUTICAL ADVERTISING

On July 4, 1990 the European Commission published a proposal for a Council Directive on the advertising of medical products for human use. The proposed Directive, if passed, will regulate all advertising of medicinal products for human use, but generally allows more advertising to health professionals than to the general public.
