Teens are driving the growth of digital entertainment, but it must be free, and they like to use ad blockers. They are most likely to discover brands through online press and friend recommendations. Forget Facebook, teens are on Tumblr, Instagram and Snapchat.

GWI's research programme covers 32 countries globally, surveying 170,000 internet users aged 16-64 each year. Within our Q3 and Q4 2014 waves of research, almost 5,000 teens (aged 16-19) answered questions about their internet activities, device usage, social media behaviours, e-commerce engagement and online brand interactions.
