Total telecoms adspend amounted to US$3.8bn globally in Q1 2014, according to data from Nielsen. This represents a year-on-year decline of 1.3%, compared with global ad growth of 4.8%. North America accounted for the largest proportion of telecoms adspend with a 39.2% share, while Latin America recorded the fastest year-on-year growth at 23.1%. Calling services/networks took the greatest share of telecoms spend in Q1 (48.8%), followed by ISPs/websites (non-retail) on 25.9%. The telecoms category to show the greatest growth was sponsorship, up 192.6%, however, it still only accounted for a 0.6% share of total Q1 telecoms adspend....
