Hey - This Stuff Actually Works
Now before I deliver my allowed 15-minute "speech," let me answer a couple of questions which I suspect are on your minds.
First of all, I'm sure you're wondering how did I ever get chosen as Chairman of the 4A's? And the second question might be why did Interpublic buy True North? The answers are interrelated.
Let's take a second and look at Scott Donaton's column from Ad Age of just this week:
John Dooner was supposed to be in Naples, Florida this week, delivering a speech as the incoming Chairman of the American Association of Advertising Agencies. But a few months back, Dooner decided that in his broadened role as Chairman & CEO of The Interpublic Group of Companies, it was no longer appropriate for him to head an advertising trade group.
So the speech will be delivered by Brendan Ryan (FCB) who will call Dooner "boss" by the start of the summer.
