Marketing Challenge

Nationwide studies have shown that secondhand smoke leads to heart disease, lung disease (including cancer), allergies and many other health problems. Studies that contradicted these facts were often funded by the tobacco industry. The New Mexico Department of Health Tobacco Use Prevention & Control Program (TUPAC) through previous media campaigns and local grassroots efforts had been extremely successful at educating the Hispanic population in New Mexico about the deadly health risks involved in secondhand smoke exposure.
