Management of Competitive Information within a Global Company

It is extremely difficult to determine the position of the aerospace and defence industry in the competitive scene because there are market mechanisms that are complex and hard to identify. The structure of the relationships between the companies involved in the competition process is extremely intricate because of everincreasing interrelationships. The upholding of national political interests in the end leads to a considerable limitation of the competition in the aerospace and defence industry.

The worldwide decrease in defence budgets originating in the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact has formed the background for the large number of mergers in the United States (see Figure 1).
