Healthy Metrics: Setting the pace for capturing marketing effectiveness

Paul Matsen

At Cleveland Clinic, we're committed to quality improvement in everything from clinical outcomes to the patient experience. That's why more than a decade ago we became one of the first hospital systems to publicly publish data that measures how successful we are at treating patients.

Cleveland Clinic's outcomes books contain summaries on our surgical and medical trends and approaches. They include data on mortality rates for heart valve repairs, prostate cancer treatments, and hundreds of other procedures. Every clinical organization at the Clinic is required to prepare an outcomes report. The Clinic also has been a pioneer in creating business dashboards that give leaders across the organization a real-time view of safety, quality, patient experience, volume, and finances.
