Brazil was a major presence at the 2011 Cannes Lions, with the nation's agencies, clients and media firms well-represented both on stage and on the conference floor.
 
The nation was the focus of two separate presentations, from international consultancy Grupo Consultores and ad agency RAPP. Both firms told a similar story: not only is the Brazilian economy booming, but this growth is being supported by an exceptionally strong communications industry.

Interviewed in Cannes, former Unilever CMO - and Sao Paulo resident - Simon Clift also suggested that representatives from Latin America's largest nation are likely to feature just as strongly at future Cannes festivals. "Sao Paulo is like Shanghai these days," he said. "It's a fantastically dynamic economy.
