A promise to help customers "Save money. Live better" has served as the anchor for Walmart's consumer appeals since 2007.

To ensure this pledge remains fresh as shopper habits evolve, the firm has launched various services bringing it to life in the digital universe. "Savings Catcher", for instance, is an online tool where patrons upload receipts and receive automatic rebates if a lower price is available elsewhere. And Walmart's mobile app similarly has an "in-store" mode letting users view rollbacks for the specific location they are visiting.
