Outdoor Lives and Outdoor Advertising in Malaysia
Kinetic's 'Moving World Asia' research looks at consumers' everyday lives, and how they interact with different media, in five key markets: Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. The study's themes include urbanisation, rise of leisure time, travel, shopping and technology.
Urban Malaysia is dominated by Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding area (Klang Valley). Malaysians spend more time out of the home than any other nationality in the survey – 10.7 hours a day during the week and 7.9 hours at the weekend (both are the highest in the report). Car ownership is high, with 60% of households owning cars. Malaysia is also a big destination for travellers, with over 23 million international arrivals a year.
