1. I Know This Much Is True
by Wally Lamb, published by HarperCollins, 1998
Growing up, I mainly read factual books. So, it wasn't until all my exams were out of the way, that I came to love fiction. This book signified two things for me; one, it proved that I could get swept away in a book. Two, it confirmed my fascination with human understanding; identical twins, one with severe mental health issues and the other left to manage this; demonstrating the tension between family obligation and unconditional love.
