The last word from the East: The drivers of the digital revolution
Ogilvy & Mather
"If you want to know the taste of a pear, you must change the pear by eating it yourself. If you want to know the theory and methods of revolution, you must take part in revolution. All genuine knowledge originates in direct experience." (Mao Zedong).
There is a new frontier of the digital revolution. For once this battle front does not emanate from the US alone. Does that mean that Asia is beginning to challenge America's digital dominance? Probably.
It will be a battle that is being fought by players in the US, Japan, China and Korea, but it is not a battle of Samsung versus Apple versus Sony versus Huawei – or any other handset manufacturer. Does that mean that hardware is secondary to the operating systems that people use to connect with friends, brands and content? Definitely.
