Mobile phones with integrated GPS, or access to it through Bluetooth technology, will allow mobile value-added service companies to provide new and better services based on accurate knowledge of the client's location.
This paper describes a new product concept that helps operators and mobile value added service companies to implement and provide new location based services. It also describes the market research used to test the concept and its findings. It analyses pros and cons for in-car systems versus on-foot systems, suggesting a new approach for pricing model in this market.
The output of the research reveals a market preference for a multipurpose device and service convergence, and the fact that this product will alter consumer behaviour.
