Leanne Cutts – President & Managing Director Japan at Mondelez International
Leanne recently moved to Tokyo to take charge of Mondelez International in Japan. Previously she was VP Marketing, Asia Pacific, responsible for driving the growth of Mondelez International's brands – including Cadbury Dairy Milk, Oreo, Halls, Biskuat, Tang and Halls – as well as leading consumer insights and analytics and driving marketing excellence in the region. Leanne joined the company (then Kraft Foods) in July 2011. She was previously with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH) in Hong Kong, where she was responsible for the Consumer Healthcare business in North Asia and the China Nutritionals business. Prior to Hong Kong, Leanne was Marketing Director of GSK Consumer Healthcare in India, and before that was with Unilever in the ice cream division.
Steve Blakeman – CEO, OMD Asia Pacific
Steve Blakeman leads OMD's operations across the Asia Pacific region, responsible for driving growth, enhancing client satisfaction and OMD's overall value proposition across the region. Prior to OMD, Steve occupied the position of Chief Strategy Officer, Asia Pacific at IPG Mediabrands for four years. While at IPG, Steve was appointed by Coca Cola as lead strategist on the global 'targeting teens' project in 2009. Steve was a part of the Omnicom Media Group network from 2003 to 2006, as the Managing Partner of PHD Manchester, in the UK.
Tim Broadbent – Global Effectiveness Director, Ogilvy & Mather
Tim joined Ogilvy & Mather and moved to Asia in 2006. He is the President of Planning of Asia Pacific and leads Ogilvy's effectiveness initiative globally. His first role, in 1976, was in Beecham's market research department in the UK, but he rapidly switched to advertising account planning at BMP, the first agency built around planners. Over the next 30 years he worked at several other highly creative London agencies, including WCRS and Saatchi & Saatchi. Tim is the only person to have won two Grand Prix in the IPA Effectiveness Awards.
Damien Cummings – Regional Marketing Director, Digital & Social Media at Samsung Asia
Damien has over 15 years' experience in the digital industry, covering all aspects of digital marketing, e-commerce and social media. At Samsung Asia he is responsible for digital marketing, social media and e-commerce strategy for nine countries across Asia Pacific. Prior to Samsung he was the Online Director – Asia Pacific & Japan at Dell, managing over $1 billion in e-commerce revenue in Asia. Damien was previously at Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, and has also worked at companies such as Citibank, Coca-Cola, NRMA and McKinsey & Co.
Mike Ewing – Professor of Marketing, Monash University
Mike's research interests include marketing communications, marketing strategy, brand management, and social marketing/health promotion. Over the past two decades, he has taught across Asia-Pacific, as well as several European markets and in South Africa. Prior to his academic career, Mike was the marketing research manager for Ford Motor Company's South African subsidiary (SAMCOR). More recently, he has acted as a consultant to DDB, Coca-Cola, Hakuhodo, Unilever, DSM, Jollibee and Telekom Austria, among many others.
Joanna von Felkerzam – Director, Research & Insights, Asia-Pacific, Starcom MediaVest
Joanna is a 15-year veteran in marketing and advertising research, having started her career at Heineken Europe. Over the past ten years she has been championing research and consumer insights at Starcom MediaVest Group. Joanna's initiatives include IntenTrack, an ongoing weekly communications effectiveness tracking tool; Asia-wide mom research uncovering how to drive meaning and scale in connecting with mothers online; as well as data and systems solutions to drive impact through video.
Ajay Kakar – Chief Marketing Officer – Financial Services, Aditya Birla Group
Ajay leads marketing for Aditya Birla's financial services businesses, including life insurance, asset management, broking, private equity, wealth management and distribution and retail broking. He was previously Head of Branding at Reliance Capital and a member of the Brand Council for Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. Prior to Reliance, Ajay was at Ogilvy & Mather, for over 14 years.
Bessie Lee – CEO, WPP China
In April 2013, Bessie assumed the role of CEO, WPP China. Based in Shanghai, she is responsible for mobilising WPP companies and resources across disciplines, for the benefit of both international and local clients. Prior to her current role, Bessie served as the CEO of GroupM China. During her seven-year tenure, GroupM's media billings in the country tripled, and GroupM was named the number one media holding group in China in terms of billings, for five consecutive years from 2007 to 2012, according to RECMA.
Siddhartha Loiwal – Head – Marketing Development and Strategy, Marico
Siddhartha leads strategy, portfolio innovation, consumer insights and foundational capability at emerging markets MNC Marico. Prior to this, he led strategic innovation and marketing investments for PepsiCo's scale South Asia Foods business, and has been a journalist too. He's worked on a wide span of target audiences and marketing mixes. During his career, he's played roles in strategy, innovation, media & communication, insights and has been a brand marketer for specialist hair & fabric care and some of India's most loved foods brands.
Richard McCabe – Regional Strategic Planning Director, McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific
Richard has spent the past 16 years based in Asia working on local, regional and global strategic initiatives across the US, European, Middle Eastern and Asian markets. Before joining McCann Worldgroup he worked at agencies including Publicis, DDB, Bates/XM, M&C Saatchi, The Filter Group, Batey Red Cell, FIN International (UK), Strawberry Frog (NL) and Ion Global. Recent clients include Citibank, BMW Asia, Procter & Gamble (on the Oral B and Vicks brands), Garnier, Sanofi, Burger King, Zurich Insurance, MasterCard, Coca-Cola and Nestlé.
Rohini Miglani – Director, Brand Building Integrated Communication P&G Asia
Rohini is a veteran at P&G, and has worked over 20 years in India, Philippines, US and Singapore. She is currently responsible for the Brand-building Integrated Communication function in Asia, working with P&G brands and agencies on brand equity, integrated communication and big ideas. She has broad category experience, including hair, skin, detergents, personal cleansing, feminine care, oral care and pharma. She was recognized as an Advertising Age 'Woman to Watch' in 2005.
Madeline O'Connor – Head of Cards & Payments, Cuscal
Madeline recently moved from Singapore to Australia to become Head of Cards & Payments at Cuscal. Previously she was CMO for the consumer business at OCBC, spanning Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China. She has worked at Citibank, Westpac, American Express, Telstra Corporation and Cable & Wireless Optus Communications.
BV Pradeep – VP Consumer & Market Insight for D&E markets, Unilever
Based in Singapore, Pradeep leads a team of 200+ managers across Asia, Africa, Middle East, Turkey, Russia and Latam. He is a member of the Global Unilever CMILT and has been with Unilever for nearly 20 years. His immediate previous role was VP CMI for Global HPC, based in London. He has been the President of Market Research Society of India for 6 years and is a member of MRS in the UK.
Fredrik Sarnblad – SVP, Group Strategy Director, Mullen
In October of 2012, after over a decade in Asia, Fredrik moved to Boston to join Mullen. As SVP, Group Strategy Director, Fredrik is currently working on Google, JetBlue and iRobot. Professionally, he first came to Asia to help set up Swedish telecom company Antenna in Hong Kong in 1999, and in 2002 co-founded brand planning shop, MSC in Singapore. Fredrik followed this up with roles at Y&R Singapore (2005) and TBWA Singapore (2007). He joined BBH Asia Pacific in 2009 as Planning Director on the global Singapore Tourism account.
Partha Sinha – Managing Partner, BBH India
Before starting BBH India, Partha had been a nuclear power engineer, a Citibanker, head of marketing of the Zee network group , VP planning with Ogilvy and Chief Strategy Officer SE Asia for Publicis. In his current role as Managing Partner, he is the head of strategy and a part of the three-member management team that runs BBH India. He has worked on brands like Google, Axe, Johnnie Walker, Nestle, Citibank, Titan and Vicks. Partha is a also columnist for the Economic Times and Financial Express and teaches at various institutes across India.
James Thompson – Chief Marketing Officer, Diageo Asia Pacific
James has worked for Diageo since 1994 in a variety of roles including President – Guinness Canada, Senior Vice President Priority Brands, Diageo North America and President – Global Marketing, Vodka, Rum and Ready-to-Drink categories. Prior to joining Diageo he worked for Unilever for ten years in UK, US and Europe-based roles.
Martin Weigel – Head of Planning, Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam
Martin is Head of Planning at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam. Before joining in 2009, he spent the preceding fifteen years as a qualitative researcher, an account planner at Lowe, JWT and Leo Burnett, living in London, New York, and São Paulo, holding local, regional, and global roles, and working on everything from toilet paper to diamonds. He lives on a canal and rides a bike.
Andy Wilson – Head of Strategy, Asia, BBDO/Proximity
Andy leads strategy development on a selection of regional and global accounts, including Fonterra, Guinness, SingTel, FedEx, and Johnson's Baby. Under his leadership, BBDO/Proximity has become the most awarded network at Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards in recent years. Andy was named Asia-Pacific Account Person of the Year in 2011, and Asia-Pacific Planner of the Year in 2012. Prior to BBDO/Proximity, Andy worked at Ogilvy for six years, in Jakarta, Tokyo and Singapore.
