Yahoo! Recruits Marketing Supremo from Reader’s Digest

Yahoo!, still reeling from a raft of senior defections [WAMN: 15-Mar-01] and the tidal wave of dotcom-hostility among investors, has moved to patch its depleted management structure with the appointment of a new executive vice president for North American operations.

In the hot-seat as of late April will be Gregory Coleman, currently senior vp of Reader’s Digest Association and president of its US magazine publishing operations. He will; be responsible for Yahoo’s North American sales, marketing and client services activities, as well as consumer services and programming.

Yahoo is also seeking to replace Tim Koogle as ceo, who plans to step down and focus on his role as Yahoo! chairman [WAMN: 8-Mar-01].
