Walt Disney Names India Business Chief

MUMBAI: The Walt Disney Company India has named Mahesh Samat as its new managing director. He joins the Mouse House from Johnson & Johnson, where he was most recently London-based MD of southern Europe, J&J Vision Care.

Samat's new responsibilities will include all of the existing Disney businesses in India, except the ESPN/Star Sports joint venture. He will report to Andy Bird, president of Walt Disney International.

Samat worked in India as marketer and market researcher for Kellogg's, prior to joining J&J.
