Waiting Almost Over for Video on Demand

01 October 2004

TV viewers in the UK who find waiting for their favourite shows irksome, will be able to enjoy video-on-demand as from next year – if they are NTL digital subscribers.

The US-owned but UK-based cable communications provider's service, ntl:on demand, will allow viewers to watch movies, music, kids' shows and 'adult' entertainment immediately, rather than waiting for a set showing.

The service, to be rolled out region by region, will be launched early in 2005 together with NTL's offering of a personal video recorder [WAMN: 30-Sept-04] which will allow viewers to record, pause and rewind live TV.
