WSJ Makes it to Top of US Rich List

29 November 2007

NEW YORK: An unexpected and apt Christmas gift for Rupert Murdoch, the media mogul who has everything! Wealthy US consumers rate the Wall Street Journal as the most prestigious business publication in the 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index.

This risible survey - compiled by the Luxury Institute which advises the rich on the brands they should be buying with their millions - says the dollar dilettantes believe the WSJ has great editorial, strong financial market coverage and accurate information.

Second on the list was investment researcher Morningstar, followed by The Economist magazine.

The survey samples 2,577 wealthy consumers, with an average income of $358,000 (€243k; £173k) and average net worth of $3.9 million.
