WPP Buys into Chinese Agencies

   BEIJING - WPP Group's pooled media buying unit GroupM has acquired 49% of Beijing-headquartered Hua Yang Lian Zhong Advertising, specialising in online and interactive media.
   Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, WPP's Bates Asia agency has bought a 75% stake in independent marketing communications consultancy Beyond Communications.
   The UK-headquartered marketing services holding company has revenues of more than £210 million ($400m; €310m) in Greater China and ceo Sir Martin Sorrell has said the country is a key focus for the group.
