Volvo Taps GRAMM for German Markets

23 March 2001

Swedish-headquartered auto manufacturer Volvo has tapped Grey Global Group’s GRAMM for its $30 million account covering German-speaking markets. The decision was made without a pitch.

Although GRAMM drives off with the Ford-owned car company’s advertising business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the appointment does not affect the status of Amsterdam-based MVMBS FUEL’s as lead agency on the pan-European account.

GRAMM ousts Berlin-headquartered Dorland for the Deutsche duties, although Dorland Zurich and Dorland Vienna will continue to work for Volvo in their respective countries.

GRAMM has worked for Volvo before, having been on its roster from 1990 to 1998; it also developed ads currently being screened for the V70 model.
