Vivendi Gets May Court Date for Diller Lawsuit

26 March 2004

Vivendi Universal's lawsuit against US media mogul Barry Diller will reach court in May.

A Delaware judge this week agreed to the French media giant's request to speed up the process. Vivendi wants the case settled before it sells its stateside unit, Vivendi Universal Entertainment, to TV giant NBC.

Diller's InterActiveCorp holds stock in VUE that gives it a say in what happens to the assets. Vivendi and NBC want the mogul to relinquish these rights and accept letters of credit as a replacement, but he has so far refused [WAMN: 19-Mar-04].
