Viacom Units Ponder Gay Network

A new TV network aimed at gay and lesbian audiences is being considered by executives at Viacom-owned cable companies MTV Networks and Showtime.

The duo, says a statement, are “examining the potential and exploring distribution models and prospects as well as programming elements. We look forward to bringing a relevant and groundbreaking television experience to this underserved and important audience.”
