Vanilla Coke Boosts Bottler’s Bottom Line

The success of Coca-Cola’s new variant, Vanilla Coke, has helped push up Q4 profits at Coca-Cola Enterprises, the world’s biggest bottler.

Net income swung from a $36 million (€34m; £22m) loss in the fourth quarter 2002 to $77m, while sales revenue increased from $3.94 billion to $4.25bn.

Volumes increased 2.5% for Q4 and 4% over the full year. Such rises were led by European volumes, up 5.5% for the quarter and 4.5% for the year, while the US saw growth of 2% and 3.5% respectively. CCE was also aided by cost-cutting and higher prices.
