Unilever Develops Emerging Markets Products

   MUMBAI - More than 500 Unilever R&D managers have been assigned to develop appropriate product mixes for emerging markets such as India and China.

   Asia-Africa president Harish Manwani told Hindustan Lever's annual meeting that the company is working to drive market development among lower income consumers.
   Estimates suggest an additional 1.2 billion consumers across the world will buy packaged goods for the first time by 2010, and the bulk of these will be in emerging markets.
