America’s online ad sector enjoyed its first growth in two years in Q4 2002, revised figures from the Interactive Advertising Bureau show.
Preliminary results released in April suggested that internet ad revenues rose 2% between Q3 and Q4 last year [WAMN: 22-Apr-03]. However, the revised statistics show an 8.9% surge to $1.58 billion (€1.35bn; £0.95bn). This is the first quarter-to-quarter gain since Q4 2000.
Nevertheless, fourth-quarter web adspend remained down year-on-year, coming in 3.7% below the Q4 2001 total.
